Protest Prison Expansion
Dear FCL Supporter,
Californians United for a Responsible Budget , or "CURB," is a broad coalition of over 40 organizations (including FCL) that opposes prison expansion and seeks to reduce the number of people in prison.
CURB has put a petition on line to protest AB 900, the bill recently signed by Governor Schwarzenegger that authorizes the construction of 53,000 new prison and jail beds in California. We want our tax dollars spent on education, health care and housing -- not prison beds!
Please take a moment to add your name to the petition.
Also, a protest will be held in Oakland, on Wednesday, May 23rd, at the State Building.
1515 Clay St. (15th and Clay, Downtown Oakland)
11:30 AM until 1:00 PM
For more information, please call (510) 444-0484.
Please pass this information on to family, friends and associates. We look forward to seeing you in Oakland.
Sincerely,
Jim Lindburg
Legislative Advocate
