Letter to the Governor Schwarzenegger
Ask Governor Schwarzenegger to sign The California Universal Healthcare Act!
Dear FCL Supporter,
Senate Bill 840, The California Universal Healthcare Act , by Senator Sheila Kuehl, D., Santa Monica, has passed both houses of the Legislature and now awaits action from Governor Schwarzenegger.
California currently has over 6.5 million residents without health insurance and millions more are underinsured. Roughly 30 percent of every health care dollar is wasted on administrative overhead. Contrarily, Medicare, a single-payer system, spends only two to three percent of every dollar on administrative overhead.
By reducing administrative overhead and applying the savings to the delivery of health care services, we can afford to provide every Californian with quality health care!
TAKE ACTION NOW!
Please take a moment to contact Governor Schwarzenegger and urge him to sign SB 840! (A copy of FCL's letter to the governor is available for you to use as a sample letter and/or talking points; however, we encourage you to draft your own letter in your own words. Phone calls and e-mails are also helpful.)
Letters should be addressed to:
