Grassroots Mobilization Day 2006!
Dear FCL Supporter,
Please join FCL and other members of the Coalition for Effective Public Safety (CEPS) for our Grassroots Mobilization Day 2006 in Sacramento, Wednesday, May 24th. There is no cost to participants. Lunch will be provided and funding is available for transportation.
CEPS was a key player in the struggle to defeat Governor Schwarzenegger's proposed prison and jail expansion earlier this year. However, our state's overuse of incarceration has led to a prison population that is approaching 200 percent of capacity. Undoubtedly, there will be additional pressure to expand prison capacity.
We need to tell the Legislature to fix Corrections -- not make a broken system bigger!
A registration form and flyer are attached. Your advance registration is appreciated but not required. It is most important, however, that you join us in Sacramento.
Sincerely,
Jim Lindburg
