Friends Committee on Legislation Education Fund
The FCL Education Fund shares its staff with the Friends Committee on Legislation.
Steve Birdlebough began working as project coordinator for the FCL Education Fund in February, 1997, after serving as a staff member in the legislature. He has focused on several projects, including:
-- Revision of This Life We Take -- containing arguments against the death penalty
-- Production of two editions of an Inventory of California Violence Prevention Programs
-- Publication of the results of a year-long study of incarceration caused by mental illness
Steve also supervises interns, speaks to student groups, and provides workshops and consultations for other non-profit organizations.
Ken Larsen joined the staff in January, 1997, bringing 20 years of experience with nonprofit organizations. In addition to
selecting ans supervising FCL interns, he is our representative to the Non-Profit Policy Council.
Peter Crysdale joined the staff in 1999 as part-time statewide Development and Outreach Coordinator. He works primairly of planned giving programs.
Sandy Soghikian is our Development and Outreach consultant for Southern California. She is active in Quaker circles. Her background in criminal justice research makes her a good resource for consultation.
Vickie Valine has served since 1992 as FCL's administrative assistant. Vickie has an extensive background as a legal assistant and many years volunteer service in the Sacramento peace community.
Diane Lockhart has volunteered her services as an experienced researcher and project manager in tracking and evaluating violence prevention programs.
